Reach believes that effective instructional conferencing is a core leadership activity that has been found to significantly impact teacher practice. Yet, school leaders often do not receive professional development in critical instructional leadership skills. Reach has designed a unique, research-based practice series and tools for leaders who want to hone their evaluation and supervision skills, specifically in the area of observation-based instructional conferences. In the Reach Instructional Conferencing Practice Series, leaders will participate in monthly meetings, developing a shared understanding of the phases of instructional conferencing, and will assess their conferencing videos in relation to indicators for effectiveness.
Reach Instructional Leader Performance Assessment (ILPA) certificate holders will effectively plan and conduct observation based instructional conferences.
